Sorry folks, not much to Blog about tonight... I am very tired. Jake Zemke had a big crash today! When he crashed he was going over 140 mph! Jake got up and walked away, but slid a long way on his back. Thank goodness for his Alpinestars Leathers... at one point he dug his elbows into the ground to slow himself down... then his bike hit the air fence at a high rate of speed and launched his soon to be wadded-up CBR 1000RR about 10 feet in the air. In a typical JZ move, he signed autographs for fans while he was walking back to the pits. Jake will be back tomorrow to race.
Nicky Hayden was in the house... there were so many people who wanted a piece of the KY Kid that Hondas PR person Stacey had to get a Sheriff to keep order about the house. Nicky was his usual great self, and gave us an interview in the Superbike show that airs tomorrow. He is good and gives good insight, so watch it!! Jamie Hacking is riding great! In Superstock qualifying Hacker was behind in his second and third split... then he and his crew threw a bunch of stuff at the Graves R1 and on the last lap pulled it off... pole point. Jamie was very happy when he came in the pits and his crew told him about his pole. I was standing in his pit area, it was cool. That race should be close tomorrow. Oh yeah, and Hack put his R6 on pole for Supersport. Can Hacking do the double this year??? His contract is up with Yamaha... the man will be worth some scratch after this season if he can pull it off. Can you say Yamaha Superbike? Jason Pridmore was having a time of it today... when a violent highside ended his day, and perhaps his weekend. JP said it was something very sudden and he was sent flying through the air, then BLAM!!! on the ground. JP's right elbow looked like the baby sack of the mother Alien in Alien vs. Predator! Nasty looking stuff. I hope Jason returns to the track soon, his Superbike is really coming along! I saw myspacer Rhiannon hanging at the track today. She was the umbrella girl for Formula Xtreme (FX) pole sitter Jason DiSalvo. She looked good! OK, enough for tonight. I am driving home from Ohio tomorrow night, so I am not sure if I can blog or not. I will try. L8R
